One thing that stands out is the look of the Balinese cat. While it is the same as a Siamese, just a long-haired version, the long coat makes a big difference with this cat breed. The Balinese has the same angular head and piercing blue eyes but the body looks soft and silky with the longer coat.

Colors of the Balinese Cat breed :

Just like the Siamese cat, the Balinese cat has four distinct colors – lilac, seal, chocolate, and blue.

According to Vet Street:

Five to nine quarry parts of the Siamese thin but buried body, as well as catch the shape of the muscle, blue eyes, big triangle and color points. The lifetime is around 18 to 22 years.

The Balinese has a full plume tail and the longer coat although in recent years, crossbreeding of the Balinese with the Siamese has produced leaner and longer features.

The Balinese is known as a hypoallergenic cat and while this is not set in stone, they are prone to less shedding and produces less of the Fel D1 protein that causes allergy problems in some people.

Personality of the Balinese Cat :

Balinese cats are extremely fond of their owners and don’t mind getting underfoot. They are intelligent, agile, athletic, and loving.

While they are just like a Siamese other than the coat, the Balinese isn’t quite as outspoken. However, this does not mean that they aren’t vocal; a Balinese will let you know exactly what they are thinking. If you do not like a chatty kitty then this is not the cat for you because before you know it, he or she will “tell all.”

The Balinese cat loves to play so toys are something that is needed to entertain your cat. They will play with you for hours but during your time away, have plenty of outlets for their brain to stay active. Being a smart cat, they crave activities and play.

The Balinese cat breed needs its coat kept brushed to ensure the silky texture. Regular vet visits and a keen eye on any changes is what is needed to keep them healthy and happy. They are, however, predisposed to a few genetic health problems to be aware of.

Bronchial Disease/Asthma

Crossed Eyes

Hyperesthesia Syndrome

Gastrointestinal Conditions

These are just a few of the genetic health conditions and while none of these are something you have to worry about, they are something to be aware of so you can take your cat to the vet as soon as possible if anything seems off.

In fact, other than the crossed eyes, there are not any serious physical defects they are known for so the list above is not the norm, just an FYI.

The Balinese cat breed is a very social, intelligent, and beautiful creature that is ideal for a family home – even those with children.
